Meet the Speakers

Avi Smith-Rapaport

President at We Care Computers

Avi Smith-Rapaport launched We Care Computers (WCC) in 2004 to provide high-quality computer services to businesses in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Over time he recognized that a proactive approach to managing his clients’ technology was the logical proactive to follow, which would enable him to provide the services his clients deserved. This proactive approach has become a core value of WCC.

Avi graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in International business management. Prior to founding WCC, Avi was an IT Director at a privately-owned wholesale company in New Haven. Before joining the wholesale company, he served as an IT instructor and technician training doctors and medical staff at a nationally recognized medical school and university.

Avi strives to appreciate all of what life has to offer while being gracious and able to give back to the community in any way he can. Avi participates and serves on several community organizations: West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, Hartford Metro Alliance, 360 Federal Credit Union and the Connecticut Better Business Bureau. Avi also serves on national and international organizations: Real Men Wear Pink (American Cancer Society) and The Watkinson School Service Trip to Dominican Republic (as a chaperone). He and WCC co-sponsor fundraising events such as Foodshare Hartford and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. In alignment with Avi’s mission for WCC to heal the world We Care Computers created the Students In Need program, early in the Covid-19 pandemic, facilitating and donating tens of thousands of dollars of computer equipment to help ensure EVERYONE is able to have access to education.

Avi resides in West Hartford with his wife Erica and sons Maxx and Samm. An avid athlete, Avi represents WCC at local biking, running and triathlons events. He has completed four full ironmen events and looks forward to racing again next year.
